Fountain City United Methodist Church Pastor John Gargis has enrolled his church into the VMFC program. Church member and Vietnam Army Veteran Dan Laine has accepted the role a Lay Leader for the church.
Fountain City UMC’s leadership and church members are very active in their community and have had Celebrate Recovery North Knox for years. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step program modeled after the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step program. It is also based on the ‘8 principles of Recovery’ from the Sermon on the Mount.
Vet tio Vet Tennessee approved Fountain City UMC as a V2VT Vietnam War Commemoration (VWC) presenter. Pastor John’s father was a Vietnam veteran and Ed Junod presented John with the VWC presidential proclamation and lapel. John also accepted on his mother’s behalf, a VWC Certificate of Honor signed by General Jackson.
