The Sgt. Michael H. Ferschke, Jr AMVETS Post 22 (Post) is one of the newest post in Tennessee, yet it is one of the most active and productive veterans service organization.
On September 1, 2017 the Knoxville Regional Veterans Mental Health Council acknowledged the extraordinary work and dedication of the leadership & members of the Post. The Council and the VA believe the Post is an important positive influence in the Blount County and their position on the Council will benefit not only the veterans and their family in Blount County but also the veterans in the VA Mountain Home Healthcare systems in eastern Tennessee. Because of the visionary mission and selfless effort of the Post’s various creative projects, the Council has approved a position for a member of the Post on their Council.
During the Post monthly meeting Post Commander Mark Frederick read the letter to the officers and members. The Post accepted the Council request and sent the following response: “Thank you for the generous offer of the position on the Knoxville Regional Veterans Mental Health Council. We respectfully accept the position. Barbara Chagnon has accepted the position on behalf of Amvets Post 22. We look forward to working with you further. Thanks”

I’m the commander of Amvets post 22 can you give me more information…
Good morning Johnny. AMVETS Post 22 joined the Knoxville Regional Veterans Mental Health Council on 9-3-17. Barbara Chagnon was the Amvets representative on the Council. Regular attendance and participation in the Council programs are required to be a member of the Council. Amvets Post 22 has not had a representative on the Council for over 12 months, therefore, Amvets Post 22 is not part of the Council If you are interested is joining please let us know. Or if you would like us to post a notification please let us know. The Council views Amvets Post 22 as a beneficial organization in Maryville TN and would be honored if the Post considers rejoining. As of October 1, 2019 the Council has a new Chairwoman, Emily Hager, US Navy Officer Veteran and UT Ph.d candidate.
