V2VT is grateful to Knox County Mayor Burchett and Director Robert Buzwell for participating in the celebration. We also want to thank Pat Anderson, Elmcroft Healthy Lifestyes Director, for coordinating the event and V2VT President Freddie Owens for the invocation. Also attending was the VA Knoxville Outpatient Clinic Medical Director Dr. Andrew Sexton. September 15th 2017 was National POW/MIA recognition day and the weather and the participates were wonderful.
The event was humbling, patriotic and awe inspiring because of the presence of Robert. If you ever want to know what Freedom is ask a POW.
Mayor Burchett presented Robert with the Knox County POW/MIA proclamation and V2VT Vice President Randall Scott presented Robert with the Joseph “JL” Tucker Memorial Award.
Robert was overwhelmed with joy and appreciation. The photo on the right demonstrates just how happy Robert was yesterday.
