On Sunday December 13, 2020 Vet to Vet Tennessee received the following note from Navy Veteran Gayle Malone about her uncle who served in the Korean War Veteran.
“Thank you so much for expediting the Korean Ambassador for Peace Medal for my uncle Martin Hughes Hackler that my mother, Stella L. Malone requested. As a Navy veteran myself, I know that my uncle would have treasured this. My family is of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and at our last ceremony on the banks of the Tennessee River, we had a group photo taken while we honored Uncle Marty. With the magic of Photo Shop, my niece was able to add a faint image of him with the medal attached to his ribbon shirt regalia. From left to right, the image includes his grandson Chris, grandson Rob, granddaughter Kenyon, niece Gayle (me), sister Stella (my mom), daughter Becky, great niece Jessica, and of course, Uncle Marty himself. Again, thank-you so much.” Regards, Gayle Malone
We are grateful to your uncle for his service and sacrifice and thankful that you family still remembers his service. Thank you.
