We all want to live another day; here’s info that may help us to do so:
The James H. Quillen VA Medical Center at Mountain Home (Johnson City) will resume vaccinating Veterans in its First-Dose COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic this morning, February 4, at 8:00 a.m. It will be open until 3:00 p.m. in Building 200, 2nd Floor Atrium and will remain open Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., as long as supplies last. The Moderna vaccine will be administered. Veterans with high-risk medical conditions as well as those over 65 years of age are eligible to receive the vaccine.
The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine was 94% effective in clinical trials in preventing COVID-19 disease. The vaccine is administered in two doses, 28 days apart. Once you receive the first dose, you will be given an appointment to receive the second. The side effects appear similar to those of other vaccines and are short-lived.
Veterans can get up-to-date information on the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Facebook page, or by calling 423-926-1171, ext. 8, for the latest COVID-19 vaccine clinic information.
