On August 20, 2025, Vet to Vet Tennessee’s Repairs for Heroes© team delivered and installed a new free LG washer and dryer to an Army Veteran in Knoxville.
Led by Repairs for Heroes© Chairman Bob McAndrew, he was supported by Bob Goguen, Lee Bacon, Randall Scott, and Roxe Hurley.
LG donated the new washer and dryer to the Knoxville Area Korean Association on June 25, 2025. Korean War Army Veteran Arthur McGill won the appliances during a raffle. Mr. McGill then donated the appliances to Vet to Vet Tennessee to find a Veteran family that needs the appliances. Click here to read the June 25th post.
With the help of Monroe County Veterans Service Officer Andy Boyd and McNabb Military Services Center Clinical Services Clinical Therapist Travis Miller, they identified a veteran family in Knoxville who had been without a washer for over three months. This effort involved collaboration with the help of Mr. Boyd, Mr. Miller, and Mr. McAndrew. The family had no means to pick up or install the appliances. Hence, Mr. McAndrew made the arrangements with the Vet to Vet Tennessee team and delivered and installed the new washer and dryer on a very hot Wednesday afternoon.
Rebecca, the caregiver for her disabled husband, was hand-washing the clothes on their porch. This added additional work and stress to her caregiver responsibilities.

God bless LG, the Knoxville Area Korean Association, Mr. Arthur McGill, McNabb Military Services Center, Monroe County VSO, and Vet to Vet Tennessee for their collaboration in supporting a veteran family in need. These types of projects prove that our Veteran families are not alone.
