Monroe County Veterans Service Office Andy Boyd arranges an intimate ceremony for two local Korean War Veterans on Wednesday, July 24, 2022, focusing attention on the men’s military service overseas and recent decoration by the Republic of South Korea as Ambassador for Peace.
Honored during a Korean War Veterans Memorial luncheon in Knoxville last month, Army Veteran Lonnie H. Millsaps, Jr. served 30 months in Korea and remained in the reserve forces until 1972 and Rudolfo Trejo, U.S. Navy 1951-55, received Ambassador for Peace medals from the Minister of Defense of South Korea.
