Joseph “JL” Tucker was an Army veteran who served in Vietnam during the Ia Drang Valley massacre. JL was the 2nd Vice President of Vet to Vet Tennessee. He survived for almost 50 years with the memories of that battle.
JL was lost and finally received help from the VA Clinical Therapist, Dr. Donald R. Richardson, after 46 months of torment. Dr. Richardson, after months of treatment, recommended that JL attend the Legacy Peer Support (LPG) group, which he did. After attending for months he began to feel better, attended weekly LPG meetings, found faith, attended Redemption Church with Freddie J. Owens, and became the Vice President of Vet to Vet Tennessee.
JL passed away on November 22, 2014 with his family and Freddie and Ed by his side. The day before he died, he was on his knees praying for a homeless veteran he was mentoring.
JL’s wife, Helen, his daughters, Kristy and Michelle, and a few grandchildren attended a radio broadcast on January 12, 2015. We were blessed that after two month of losing JL, they had the strength, will, and desire to tell the world about JL Tucker.
It was a two hour broadcast divided into four segments. Please listen to segment two.
God bless the Joseph (Bull) “JL” Tucker family.
