On July 6, 2017 Beverly Slayton, Administrative Assistant First Baptist Church New Tazewell TN, emailed Vet to Vet Tennessee with the following message:

“Our article is getting a lot of attention.

I have been receiving many calls.  I am cataloging their information and giving them the proclamation and pin.  So far I have given out 5.I received a call from Tri-State Veterans in Middlesboro KY

They read the article and have about 20 members in their group that are Vietnam Veterans.  Would you be able to contact them directly and give them the proclamations and pins?   She said several members of the group also fought in Korea.”
