June 25, 2025. The Knoxville Korean Area Association (KAKA) hosted its 22nd Annual Korean War Memorial Luncheon sponsored by Federal Express, LG, and Vet to Vet TN. This year, LG donated two (2) new washer and dryer sets to KAKA.
KAKA raffled off the appliances, and the winners are Roxe Hurley, VTVT Secretary, and Korean War Army Veteran Arthur L. McGill. Mr. McGill approached VTVT President Randall Scott and donated the washer and dryer to VTVT. Mr. McGill won a set of appliances last year at the 21st Annual Luncheon; LG donated the appliances.
The donation must be given to a veteran or the surviving spouse of a veteran who needs assistance. VTVT decided to turn to Monroe County Veterans Service Officer Andy Boyd to find a veteran who needed a washer and dryer. Who else knows the Veterans and their surviving spouses better than Mr. Boyd?
We post the recipient as soon as Andy finds that person. The photo above is KAKA President Elena Sonbok McMillan and Arthur McGill.
God bless Mr. McGill for his thoughtfulness, charity and kindness. God bless America.
